A must when load balancing, backup, and failover are your main concerns.
A single physical server used to host applications, databases, or virtual machines. Simple setup ideal for small environments or standalone workloads.
Single point of failure.
Best for non-critical services, developmentor entry-level workloads.
Workload is split across two physical servers, typically separating web/application services from the database. Improves resource allocation and overall performance.
No true high availability.
Better separation of roles and higher performance.
Clustered environment with DRBD replicated storage. Load balancers in active/passive, web serversin active/active, database and NFS in active/passive.
Compute nodes can be added for more capacity. Additional DRBD pairs can be created for more volumes.
Compute and storage are fully decoupled using Ceph. VMs run on any compute node while datais stored across the Ceph cluster. Horizontally scale compute or storage independently.
